ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - The Coalition of Persons with Disabilities in Newfoundland and Labrador says it is facing closure because of cuts in both their federal and provincial funding.

People with the group say the Department of Advanced Education and Skills is no longer providing $15,000 used to rent accessible office space.

The announcement comes in conjunction with cuts in the group's primary funding source, the Council of Canadians with Disabilities.

Coalition president Michelle Murdoch says they seem to be caught between various provincial government departments that don't see them as their responsibility.

The federal funding will run out by the end of 2015.

The group says it can't operate without some level of sustainable year-to-year funding.
