ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - A group that represents people with disabilities in Newfoundland and Labrador isn't expected to survive now that its core funding has been cut by the provincial and federal governments.

The Coalition for Persons with Disabilities is calling the situation a major step backward for the province.

The group's president, Michelle Murdoch, says disabled people in the province will have to deal with a big void in services.

She says her group is the only one that advocates on behalf of people with different disabilities.
