Prime Minister Stephen Harper's day is full of meetings, a cute cat and more meetings, judging by his recent social media updates.
Harper's Twitter account, @pmharper, began tweeting out photos and videos of his daily routine today along with the the hashtag #dayinthelife. They show the PM eating breakfast with his cat Stanley, eating lunch and more.
Harper, who has frequently been criticized for being secretive, has been showing a different side of himself on Twitter lately. In late November, the account tweeted a photo of Justin Bieber, clad in now-infamous overalls, receiving his Diamond Jubilee Medal. And when some chided Biebs for his attire, Harper defended him with a light-hearted tweet: "In fairness to @justinbieber, I told him I would be wearing my overalls too. #cdnpoli #beliebers"
Then he tweeted a '"Serenity now!" clip from "Seinfeld" to NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair in mid-December. And when his account shared a "Simpsons" YouTube clip of Homer and Bart singing "You don't win friends with salad," The Huffington Post Canada wondered what is behind the change in tone.
A spokesperson recently revealed Harper only "occasionally" tweets himself, according to the Canadian Press.
Predictably, some Twitter users were not too impressed with today's project. Many mocked the PM and provided their own captions to go along with the PM's updates.
