Unidentified male found dead in Surrey homicide

Police in Surrey, B.C., are investigating after the body of a male homicide victim was found near a roadside ditch this morning.

Cpl. Adam MacIntosh says police were called to a rural area north of Highway 99 on the Surrey-Delta border around 9:20 a.m. PT Monday.

Once there, they found a male body in the grass on the 12300 block of Colebrook Road.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation team was called in to handle the investigation. Police say the victim has not yet been identified and have not released the cause of death.

"We are in the early stages of this investigation and we are working to find out if this latest homicide is related to gang activity.” said MacIntosh.
