No serious injuries after small plane lands short of runway in Three Hills, Alta

THREE HILLS, Alta. - Three people are counting their blessings after a small plane landed short of the runway in bad weather at a small rural airport in central Alberta.

RCMP say the single-engine Piper Meridian ended up on the runway in Three Hills this morning with a damaged left wing and landing gear.

One passenger suffered minor injuries.

The pilot and another passenger were not hurt.

The three were from La Crete, Alta.

Police say the Transportation Safety Board is to investigate the cause of the crash.
