Pedestrian hit and killed in Montreal

A 75-year-old woman died yesterday after she was hit by a vehicle on Gouin Boulevard West, near the intersection of Ranger Street.

The woman was crossing the street with another woman in her 20s at about 4 p.m. Wednesday when they were hit by a car.

The older woman was rushed to hospital, where she died from her injuries later that evening.

The second woman was also hurt, but she is expected to recover.

According to police, the driver was blinded by the sun and did not see the two women walking in the intersection

This is the fourth fatal incident involving a pedestrian in Montreal this year.
