Eco-Chic Wedding In Costa Rica
A Brit & A Blonde

Get ready for a healthy dose of Vitamin D (and cuteness!) with this sunny destination wedding by event planners Mal Pais Green Weddings. Kevin and Hillary said "I do" on the tropical grounds of Batik Costa Rica, followed by an intimate reception with guests in one of the resort's lush gardens. What do we love about this ocean-side celebration? The bride's head-to-toe BHLDN style (obviously), the cheerful pops of yellow and the customized beer koozies made by Hillary's dad's company. Captured by photographers A Brit & A Blonde, the images of this beachy celebration are sure to make you smile!

Destination Wedding: Yellow & Grey In Costa Rica

From A Brit & A Blonde... "Hilary & Kevin met in 2006 while both working for Neiman Marcus in Texas. Kevin was head of jewelry and Hilary was head of lingerie. The sunny color scheme for their big day was yellow and grey. The ceremony was held on the beach in the Coconut Grove in Costa Rica. With a handmade driftwood arch, to which was added a yellow garland composed from sunflowers and Gerberas (the yellow flowers in season). From the natural driftwood bar we served Coco Locos for cocktail hour on the beach, local coconuts and Costarican rum make a nice refreshing drink for such hot weather. All the signs were hand painted on driftwood too. The reception was held at Casa Batik, the garden of one of the houses was used for the dining area The lighting was natural, and recycled jars were hung in the trees and bushes around the garden to create a magical ambiance. The centerpiece was three white wooden boxes in different sizes with only yellow flowers (Gerberas, sunflowers and billy buttons), these were placed on grey and yellow runners that overlapped each other. Simple yet so perfect. At the back of the garden there was a table for kids... in the center we had yellow flower pots and in them crayons, glitter, glue, stickers...lots of arts and crafts for them to have fun with. The seating chart consisted of an old wooden ladder from which were tied jute rope and attached the place cards with clothes pegs to it. We cleared the lounge for the dance floor and hung paper lanterns in yellow and white. The table in the lounge was used to place the guest book and camera for guests to sign. The decor was recycled glass bottles with ribbons and yellow flowers. The beyond uber cute flower girls wore J. Crew Crewcuts dresses. The program that doubled as a fan was designed by a friend of the couple. And Hilary's dad's company is the one that created those great customized beer koozies in yellow and grey!"
