Valentine's Day Date Ideas In Calgary

BLIND HER WITH SCIENCE

Adults only at Telus Spark's Valentine's Day special event, titled "This Is Your Brain On Love." For a truly unique date night, grab a glass of wine while you and your sweetheart explore the exhibits, including a sheep heart dissection.

MAKE HER YOUR MUSE

Flex your creative muscles and head to a Colour Me Mine location to paint a special piece of pottery for your sweetie. We recommend a heart-shaped candy dish or a sentimental mug.

LET'S GET PHYSICAL

If you and your special someone are into the outdoors, what better than to make a day of enjoying the gorgeous mountain views? Strap on your snowshoes, snowboard, skis or grab your toboggan and head for the hills. Finish your day with a romantic apres ski drink near the fire.

COOKING FOR TWO

They say a way to a man's heart is through his stomach, so why not take a cooking class together? SAIT's culinary campus is offering a special Valentine's Day cooking class for those who want to bond in the kitchen.

TANTALIZING TANNINS

othing like a little wine to get you in the mood, right? Head over to Metrovino or Willow Park and browse their amazing selections of wine or participate in a wine tasting. Grab a few bottles to take home and have a low-key night of chatting and sipping.

MAKE HIS HEART SKIP A LAP

Competitive couples can race toward love by heading over to Speeders' indoor go-kart track. Be careful you don't get dizzy racing around the track too many times - the point of the day is to fall in love, not fall and hit your head.

LOVE IS A CABARET

Whether it be a movie, a play or some stand-up comedy, there are plenty of places in Calgary to catch some great entertainment. We recommend Theatre Calgary's "The Kite Runner."

GOOD OLD FASHIONED ROMANCE

If you want to do the classic Valentine's Day date of dinner and drinks, head down to the Fairmont Palliser Hotel for a romantic night on the town. Perfectly poured pre-dinner cocktails await you in the Oak Room, before heading over to the Rimrock Restaurant for a delicious main course.

YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE DANCING

Any great date, in our opinion, includes dancing. It's a chance to get close and test your physical compatibility. It's also a great way to ease any tension for you newly-dating couples. Sign up for a dance class or head out for some live music. Even if your dancing doesn't impress, your creative date idea will.

LOCAL LOVE

At Crossroads Market in the southeast you're sure to find everything you need to create the perfect date night. Head there with your love to pick up some local, fresh food for dinner and perhaps a homemade pie or some cookies for dessert. Swing by the antique mall and find your favourite nostalgic board game or old movie. Head home and enjoy a great night in, without breaking the bank.

YOU ARE THE WIND BENEATH MY (PLANE) WINGS

Take a trip back in time and learn a bit about the people who fought for your freedom to love (and date) on Valentine's Day. Head over to the Military Museums of Calgary for a truly unique date where you can move around, chat and, best of all, learn something new.
