Man wanted in Woolner shooting turns himself in

An 18-year-old man wanted in connection with the shooting of a 17-year-old on Sunday has turned himself in to police and now faces charges of attempted murder.

Jevaun Beharie turned himself in at around 9 p.m. on Monday night.

On Sunday, a man approached the 17-year-old victim near 220 Woolner Ave., near Jane Street and St. Clair Avenue.

As the boy tried to flee, the man chased him on foot and fired several shots, before leaving the scene in a vehicle, police said.

The boy was wounded in the abdomen, but managed to get to a house for help. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
