Ikea Pulls More Food Over Possible Horse Contamination

If it's not the Köttbullar, it's the Wienerkorv. Days after it pulled meatballs from stores for containing horse meat, cheap furniture Xanadu/meatball hustler Ikea has pulled wiener sausages as well due to "a few indications of horse meat." According to the AP, Ikea's internal testing discovered the sausages "didn't just contain beef and pork," which kind of makes you wonder what they did contain. Horse meat? Reindeer? Furniture-designing alien flesh? The sausages were pulled from Ikeas in France, Britain, Spain, Ireland and Portugal.

Meanwhile, McDonald's has ordered their European meat suppliers to do additional DNA testing of all meat products. The fast food giant told Eater, concerning possible horse meat contamination in the US, "McDonald's USA has never used horse meat in our hamburger patties. McDonald's serves 100 percent pure USDA-inspected beef." The growing horse meat scandal has not reached the US. Yet.
