Travel Hacks To Simplify Packing For A Trip (VIDEO)

WATCH: Awesome Travel Hacks To Make Packing Easier

The word "hack" often has negative connotations, but when it comes to globe-trotting, hacks can make aggravating tasks like packing just a bit more bearable.

Case in point: BuzzFeed's collection of travel hacks geared at removing the annoyances that accompany packing toiletries (nobody enjoys shampoo all over their stuff) and preventing clothes from becoming wrinkled messes. And it couldn't come at a better time. According the Washington Times, airlines fees are getting less and less transparent, meaning that poor packers could be forced to pay more for multiple suitcases instead of an efficiently-packed piece of luggage.

The video features shortcuts to maximize space in the suitcase and even a few tricks to conceal valuable items, like cash or a nice bottle of wine. For those who habitually fly back with more than they started with, there's a hack for that too: extra totes or handbags for souvenirs that just won't fit in your bags.

Other suggestions, like threading a necklace through a straw to reduce tangles, cater towards those who may just have a mild case of obsessive compulsive disorder when it comes to travelling with bling. But hey, if you've got straws lying around the house and want to channel your inner MacGyver, check out the video above.
