Vancouver police are investigating the city’s third murder of the year after a pub fight in the city’s east end.

David William Floyd, 47, was in the fight around 10 p.m. after getting kicked out of the Ivanhoe Pub on Friday, said Const. Brian Montague in a news release on Saturday.

When police arrived, they found Floyd unresponsive. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are treating Floyd's death as "suspicious."

A 50-year-old man is in custody, say police. Charges have not been laid. The cause of death remains undetermined.

UPDATE - April 5, 2013: Police have concluded that the death of David William Floyd was not a murder. No criminal charges will be laid, said the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section.
