Canadian Screen Awards Best Dressed: Sarah Polley, Kristin Kreuk Wow The Crowd

Canadian Screen Awards: Best Dressed!

Who dressed the best at the inaugural Canadian Screen Awards? To paraphrase Saturday Night Live's Canadian entertainment show sketch, Celebrity Scoop, "they all looked nice!"

Canada's Oscar-nominated Rebelle (A.K.A. War Witch) took home 10 trophies, but the night's coveted style prize belonged to its winning writer-director Kim Nguyen, who also won Best Original Screenplay and Achievement in Direction. Dressed in an all-black suit and a silver tie and handkerchief, Nguyen put a sharp spin on a classic look, which coincidentally co-ordinated with his two new accessories.

Kristin Kreuk

Best Dressed at the Canadian Screen Awards

Kristin Kreuk: This Beauty and the Beast stunner may spend a lot of time filming her series in Toronto, but she truly turned heads in this printed Arthur Mendonça jumpsuit. Kreuk's look is formal, flattering and fun, which fits perfectly with the night's celebratory flavour. Yes, that's flavour spelt f-l-a-v-o-u-r.

Sarah Polley: When accepting her Canadian Screen Award for Feature Length Documentary for Stories We Tell, Sarah Polley (with producing partner, Anita Lee) was glowing from head to toe. Rocking an off-the-shoulder black dress, with a lace-detailed skirt, the new mom rocked a new 'do, and looked like a winner in every possible sense.

Emily Haines: Taking home an award for Music - Original Song for her work on the Cosmopolis soundtrack, Metric singer Emily Haines was every bit of a style star, in her black leather and gold fringe look. We love it! Haines brings just enough rock and roll to the biggest night in Canadian film and TV.

Sandra Oh: The Ottawa native was an effervescent presenter on and off the stage in this black and red number. The Grey's Anatomy star could not stop smiling the entire night, and judging by her look, it's easy to see why.

Xavier Dolan: The Laurence Anyways writer-director is known for his risk-taking, and this electric blue suit complements his vibrant style perfectly. Not only does he stand out for his bold colour choice, but its expert tailoring leaves no style faux-pas to chance.
