Jonathan Jobin, 31, died after losing control of his car on Highway 73, near the Jean-Talon exit in the Quebec City borough of Charlesbourg.
Eyewitnesses told police they saw Jobin’s car hit the median and flip over around 9:45 p.m. Friday night.
Sgt. Claude Denis of the Sûreté du Québec said Jobin was ejected from the vehicle.
He died this morning in hospital.
He was not wearing a seatbelt and police found a smartphone in the car connected to a social media website.
The SQ couldn’t confirm whether Jobin was using the phone at the time of the accident.
The other man, also in his early thirties, died while taking a curve on Henri IV boulevard near the Laurier interchange.
Both men were travelling alone.
