Toronto woman killed in Peel Region crash, police say

A Toronto woman was killed when her car slid sideways on Tomken Road yesterday afternoon and was hit by a truck going in the opposite direction.

Peel Regional Police say the crash happened at approximately 4:13 p.m., when a northbound Honda lost control and began to slide sideways, near the Brampton and Mississauga border.

The car was struck by a truck in the southbound lane of Tomken Road.

Police say the driver died at the scene. The name of the 19-year-old victim has not been released.

The truck driver was not injured.

Investigators are looking for witnesses who may have information about the crash, or the moments immediately before the deadly collision.
