Toronto bridal store owner charged with fraud

Toronto police have arrested a bridal shop owner they were looking for in connection with a number of fraud allegations.

Van Dang, 51, turned herself in to police earlier this week.

She has been charged with five counts of fraud under $5,000.

Dang was the owner of Classy Collection, a bridal store on Spadina Avenue that closed up shop without any warning earlier this year.

An unknown number of women were left with their wedding plans shattered after Classy Collection moved out of its premises with no warning, taking with it all of the gowns, veils and shoes.

Dang has been released on her own recognizance and will appear in court in Toronto next month.
