Being a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model isn't as glamorous as it looks; just ask Alyssa Miller, who shares in a Buzzfeed video all the odd techniques that are used to make paint look like clothing.

Miller posed for the 2013 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue wearing a painted-on bikini, which is why she is so familiar with the process.

This is what we learned from the video:

Secret #1: Paper Towel Is A Model's Friend

Any part of a model's body that won't be airbrushed must be covered with paper towel. As Miller says, it's "kinda ghetto."

Secret #2: Butts And Breasts Will Get Shaved

And not with soap and water. DRY.

Secret #3: Flaps Are Used To Cover A Model's Nether Regions

So glamorous!

Secret #4: Models Get Rubbed Down

Perhaps it's time to change jobs and become a photographer's assistant.
