CALGARY - A man being held by police in British Columbia has been charged in a brazen heist in which a vehicle was used as a battering ram to gain access to a Calgary shopping mall.

Police believed two people were involved when expensive watches worth almost $140,000 were taken from a jewelry store at the Market Mall shopping centre one night last November.

Investigators said the vehicle was crashed through a mall entrance, causing about $150,000 dollars in damage.

A 27-year-old man already in custody in Coquitlam, B.C., on an unrelated matter was arrested last week.

Samual Jacob Chapman has since been charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property.

Police say they are still looking for a second man.
