According to Radio-Canada, CBC's French service, police arrested five suspects, ranging between 48 and 65 years-old, early Tuesday morning.
The suspects are facing charges for possession and distribution of child pornography.
According to Quebec City police Const. Catherine Viel, her department was tipped off by another police force.
Radio-Canada reports that material found on a computer server led police to launch their investigation.
Police say the suspects did not know one another.
Officers also raided the suspects' residences and confiscated computers, which will be analyzed by investigators.
The suspects will be questioned this morning and are expected to appear in court by the end of the day.
