Dx3: Understanding What Makes Canada Unique Requires Knowing Our Differences, Environics' Mike Lipkin says (VIDEO)

WATCH: What Makes Canada Different From U.S.? Not Much, Says Mike Lipkin

As President of Environics/Lipkin, Mike Lipkin spends much of his time and energy answering questions about Canada's identity and its place in the world.

But Lipkin tells the AOL Conversation Studio at Dx3 2013, held March 6-7 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, in tracking Canadian values in relation to what matters to other countries he sees more characteristics bringing Canadians and Americans together, than pushing them apart.

A key main difference between the two neighbours he says, is in how the two nations have adapted during the recent economic crisis. The U.S. system cracked, he says, while the Canadian system held fast. Canada is one of the most wired nations of the world, he adds, and this creates a greater sense of community making Canadians feel closer to each other than many other nations, including the U.S.

That said, Lipkin offers a compelling point. Values between Canadians and Americans are very simliar, and this prompts him to call Canadians, "unarmed Americans with health care." Do you agree?
