Donations fall short for Moisson Montreal food bank

Moisson Montreal, the city’s largest food bank, is seven days away from the end of its Great Food Drive for Children — and about $72,000 from its goal.

This year’s campaign hasn’t been on the public’s radar, with only about 10 per cent, or $8,000, of its fundraising goal met.

The food bank is also seeking more than 20,000 kilos of food donations.

According to Moisson Montreal, 21,000 children five years of age and younger require assistance per month.

But only about one per cent of all donations are suitable for infants and toddlers.

The campaign ends April 7.
