Murder charges laid in Princeton triple shooting

A 49-year-old man has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder for shootings that took place in Princeton, B.C. Saturday night.

RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said the charges relate to the shooting deaths of 44-year-old Robert (Keith) Wharton and 32-year-old Rosemary (Rose) Fox at a property on Old Hedley Road.

A 48-year-old man was also injured, and remains in hospital in serious condition.

Moskaluk says the victims are all residents of Princeton, and all knew the accused. Moskaluk also said the major crimes unit is assisting Princeton RCMP with the ongoing investigation.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Penticton Tuesday morning.

Princeton is approximately 110 kilometres west of Penticton along B.C.'s Highway 3.
