Rolling Stones Tour 2013: Toronto On List For '50 And Counting' Tour

Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary Tour Announced

The Rolling Stones on Wednesday confirmed details of their North American "50 And Counting" arena trek which will kick off sometime in early May in Los Angeles depending on the availability of the Staples Center and potential conflict with the National Hockey League playoffs. The band are also returning to Hyde Park, site of their famous 1969 free concert days after Brian Jones' death.

According to the band's site, the first confirmed date is May 5 in Oakland with arena dates set for San Jose (May 8), Las Vegas (May 11) and Anaheim (May 15). From there the group has a small break before continuing to Toronto's Air Canada Centre on May 25, Chicago's United Center on May 28 and Boston's TD North Garden on June 12. The trek is currently set to conclude on June 18 in Philadelphia.

Tickets for the Toronto, Chicago, Oakland and San Jose gigs go on sale Monday (April 8) at 10 a.m. local time.

The group also unveiled a YouTube clip featuring Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood getting in touch with each other via webcam. Jagger is shown sitting on a beach while Wood is painting the city names.

"Well it's about time gents, I've been waiting for this call," Wood says.

Earlier reports indicated 18 arena dates will be slated, so it's most likely some of these cities will receive a second show due to demand and given the spacing between some of the newly announced dates. There's no word if the remaining nine dates will be limited to these cities or if additional cities will be announced in the coming days and weeks.

The Hyde Park concert will take place on July 6, almost 44 years to the day the band played the same location. Support acts include The Temper Trap, The Vaccines and Gary Clark, Jr.

"We had such a great time playing the five concerts last year, we want to keep it going!" Jagger said in a statement on the band's site. "Hyde Park holds such great memories for us and we can't think of anywhere better to perform to our U.K. fans this summer." Tickets for that gig go on sale Friday (April 5).

The Stones, who released a "GRRR!" compilation late last year and played a handful of concerts in London and the New York area, have also confirmed a headlining slot at this year's Glastonbury Festival in June.
