Pierre's picks: 5 don't-miss events in Montreal this weekend

Every weekend, CBC Montreal’s Homerun arts reporter Pierre Landry brings you the top five things to see and do in Montreal in the next 48 hours.

Here are his picks for April 13 and 14.

1. Opening on Friday,Geordie Productions presents the bilingual play Head à tête at the Centaur Theatre. It stars Michel Perron and Joe De Paul as two strangers who must find common ground amidst their linguistic differences. Alain Goulem directs.

2. The songs of Sir Elton John are the inspiration behind Love Lies Bleeding, on show at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier until Sunday. The ballet is performed by the Alberta Ballet and presented by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens.

3. Great Big Sea have been going strong for 20 years and they're celebrating their anniversary on the road. Catch them at Metropolis on Saturday night.

4. Montreal's The Besnard Lakes have just released their latest album, Until In Excess, Imperceptible UFO. They bring their ambient rock to Cabaret du Mile end on Saturday night, at 9 p.m.

5. Hip Hop collective Nomadic Massive are set to release some new material in the next few weeks. Until then, you can see them live at Club Soda on Saturday before they embark on a tour of France.
