SPRINGHILL, N.S. - Nova Scotia Progressive Conservative Leader Jamie Baillie will be the party's candidate in Cumberland South in the upcoming provincial election.

Baillie, who is the current MLA for the riding, was nominated at an event in Springhill on Saturday evening.

In a news release, Baillie says he's ready for an election to be called.

He says his plans for the province include lowering the harmonized sales tax, freezing power rates and investing money in education.
