Three young street racers are without their luxury cars after they were caught allegedly speeding down Highway 1 on Sunday. Only one driver had a valid licence.

The cars were allegedly travelling between 130 to 160 km/h between Mt. Lehman Rd in Abbotsford and 264th St in Langley when they were noticed by other drivers.

"We received reports that the vehicles were weaving through traffic and using the right hand shoulder to overtake other cars," said Cpl. Rob McDonald in a news release on Wednesday.

RCMP positioned themselves on a Highway 1 on-ramp, spotted the speeding trio, and escorted the street racers off the road.

A black 2013 Porsche Panamera, white 2013 BMW 750, and white 2013 BMW M5 were impounded by police.

The three men were also each given 15-day driving prohibitions and tickets related to reckless driving.
