CALGARY - More than 100 people gathered outside of Premier Alison Redford's Calgary constituency office to protest post-secondary education cuts.

The demonstrators included Mount Royal University students, faculty, staff and supporters.

Some of the protesters held signs that read "education not edu-cuts" and "education cuts never heal."

Others chanted "no ifs, no buts, no education cuts."

The Redford government's spring budget includes 147 million dollars in spending cuts to universities, colleges and institutes.

Protesters also dropped off a multi-page petition to Redford's office that calls for the cuts to be rescinded. (CHQR)
