HALIFAX - Nova Scotia's 9,500 public school teachers have accepted a new three-year agreement with the province.

Members of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union ratified the agreement late Thursday.

Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Ramona Jennex says the agreement is fair to teachers.

Teachers will receive a two per cent wage increase in the first year, with increases of 2.5 and three per cent in following years.

The last contract expired July 31, 2012.
