A Nissan brand of vehicle was destroyed, basically split in half, and the 37-year-old driver was ejected from the vehicle when two vehicles crashed head-on at a high speed in Gatineau.
Police said the crash happened at about 8 p.m. near 1986 Maloney Blvd. E., close to the Gatineau airport.
The force of the head-on crash also left a 20-year-old driver and his two passengers trapped inside a Mazda.
4 in hospital due, blood sample taken
All four people involved were sent to the Hull Hospital but none of them suffered life-threatening injuries. Police also took blood samples from the 37-year-old driver to test for alcohol.
Police are now looking for the driver of a red-wine Chevrolet Camaro convertible that was parked on the curb close by when the crash happened. It has a black roof, with a silver trim and "very clean," police said.
Police want the driver to contact Det.-Sgt. Marie-Eve Leclerc at 819-243-2345, ext. 7625.
Maloney Blvd. was closed between Chauret and Mongeon until 11:50 p.m. to allow investigators to analyze the crash scene.
Gatineau police continue to investigate.
