BC Leaders Debate On CKNW Radio For Election 2013 (LIVE BLOG)

LIVE Blog: B.C. Leaders' Debate

B.C.'s political leaders faced off against each other in a radio debate on CKNW Friday morning.

The leaders of the Liberals, the NDP, the Conservatives and the Green Party presented their platforms to voters in an hour-and-a-half long debate that included questions from callers.

The Liberal platform pledges to pay down the province's debt in 15 years using natural gas revenues, while the NDP platform promises welfare, education and health care reform, while the party admits it will table three consecutive budget deficits.

The Green Party, meanwhile, wants to reduce government dependence on oil and gas revenues, lower taxes on individuals and increase the carbon tax. Conversely, the B.C. Conservatives promise to get rid of the carbon tax and spend more money on the justice system and law enforcement.
