On Monday, May 6, the fashion elite will descend on the steps of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art for the annual 2013 Costume Benefit a.k.a. the Met Gala.

This year's theme honours the museum's "Punk: Chaos to Couture" exhibit so we're curious to see what celebrities will be wearing.

Will gala host Anna Wintour style her hair into a mohawk? Will Gwyneth Paltrow put safety pins in her ears? Will Jennifer Lopez don black latex leather?

The opportunities are endless for celebrities, models and Vogue editors to channel their inner punk.

But which celebs already embrace the alternative style look?

You may not agree with their style choices or even like their faux-hawks but you have to give celebs such as Canadian Avril Lavigne and even Rihanna for embracing the punk lifestyle.
