Nesting goose attacked in Abbotsford, B.C.

Abbotsford police are investigating after a nesting goose was found covered in blood in a parkade on Saturday.

A mall security guard discovered the bird, injured but still sitting on its eggs, in the 32900 block of South Fraser Way. A review of the surveillance video from the parkade captured images of a group of young people striking the goose.

The goose is recovering and remains with her nest in the parkade. Police are actively working to enhance the video and identify those involved.

Geese have been nesting on the upper levels of the parkade for several years. Police advise passersby to respect the nesting geese and stay from their eggs.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Abbotsford Police at 604-859-5225.
