The 'Top of the World' trail is a new high alpine mountain bike trail on Whistler Mountain, site of the 2010 Winter olympics.
Temperatures across B.C.'s South Coast are expected to get into the 22 C to 29 C range from Saturday through to Monday, and into the 30s early next week for the B.C. Interior. But that has led to some concern for high-elevation snow melt, reports CBC meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe.

An avalanche warning issued by Parks Canada remains in effect for the Rocky Mountains, where there is a risk of slides on popular hiking trails. Central Okanagan Emergency Operations have also issued a bulletin to be mindful of fast-running streams and rivers this weekend.

But with safety in mind, the beaches and parks will be packed this weekend with blue skies to match the summer temperatures. Daily temperature records will likely be set for the South Coast starting Saturday.
