VANCOUVER - Vancouver police are asking for eyewitness accounts to solve what they're calling the suspicious death of an 80-year-old man.

Police spokesman Randy Fincham says the older victim, identified as Yee Wong, fell to the ground after he was allegedly pushed by a 45-old-man during a quarrel around 7 a.m Friday morning.

Fincham says Wong was initially conscious and spoke with the paramedics who transported him to hospital, but his condition quickly deteriorated and he later died.

Fincham says the 45-year-old has since been released from custody, but police have not yet determined what happened during the altercation.

Fincham says police believe there are witnesses who have not yet come forward, including an off-duty firefighter.

He is asking anyone with information to call police so investigaters can get a clear idea of what happened to the victim on May 3.
