The Canadian Olympic Foundation, in partnership with the Hudson's Bay Company, announced plans Tuesday for the sale of red sunglasses, and hope they'll have the same success as the popular red mittens campaign.
The glasses — available in red, white and black — will sell for $10, with one-third of the proceeds to support high performance sport and athletes in Canada.
"It is my hope that Canadians will embrace this opportunity to assist our deserving athletes who are aspiring to write our country's next great Olympic moments," Adam van Koeverden, a four-time Olympic kayak medallist, said in a release.
Canadian Olympic Committee president Marcel Aubut said the 2010 Vancouver Games changed the relationship the country has with its athletes.
"Our nation is ready for more great Olympic magic and what a wonderful way for Canadians to play a part in making that a reality," Aubut said.
