Shooting at Toronto's Yorkdale mall sends man to hospital

A man is in hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a number of shots were fired into a restaurant at Yorkdale mall just after midnight Saturday morning.

Police say the suspect left the scene in a vehicle, taking the Yorkdale service road to the Allen expressway. They are looking for a Silver Honda CRV. There may be more than one suspect.

A window on the ground floor of Joey restaurant was riddled with bullet holes. The restaurant opened at Yorkdale in November.

Saturday’s shooting is the second such incident at the mall in less than two months. On March 30, a man was shot dead in the parking lot after a confrontation between two groups of men.

The mall is open Saturday but Joey restaurant will remain closed.
