Fire destroys pair of apartment buildings in Montreal North

Fire destroyed a pair of vacant multistorey apartment buildings in Montreal North on Wednesday.

Firefighters were called to 6715 Henri-Bourassa Boulevard East near Langelier Boulevard at around 12:45 p.m.

At its peak, close to 100 firefighters were on the scene of the fire, which jumped to a neighbouring, identical building.

Streets in the vicinity were blocked off for several hours, including Henri-Bourassa Boulevard East in both directions.

There are no reports of injuries.
