Dx3: Canadian Media Landscape Embraces Change (VIDEO)

WATCH: Canadian Media Changing With Technology

As Managing Editor of Huffington Post Canada, Kenny Yum plays a leading role in a new era of Canadian media.

He's witnessed first-hand the way technology is transforming the media landscape as newspapers give way to digital-first platforms, and journalists use new tools to engage and connect with their audience.

The launch of HuffPost Canada about two years ago further drove a new wedge into Canadian media circles and has helped usher in a new era.

"What we've really done is disrupted the news industry," said Yum, speaking at the Dx3 Canada conference in March. "We bring a different tone, voice, the way we operate in the social space is quite different. Our imprint in original journalism is unmatched."

"We've changed the game in the Canadian atmosphere."

Yum says that Canadians are quick to adapt to new tools and advances in digital technology, and that makes Canadians more willing to embrace new ways of accessing their news. This makes it a good time for media outlets like Huffington Post Canada that want to bridge the gaps between old and new.
