It's one thing to forget where you parked, but the owner of a Porsche apparently "forgot" his car entirely when he left it on a B.C. ferry and took the bus instead.

The owner was travelling from Swartz Bay to Tsawassen on the Spirit of Vancouver Island when he left his Porsche on the ferry's vehicle deck, The Times-Colonist reported.

The car delayed a sailing for over an hour as staff and police looked for the owner.

Delta police traced the owner's license plate and called his cellphone, B.C. Ferries spokesman Darin Guenette told The Times Colonist. “He said he forgot, and got the bus,” said Guenette.

When Delta police tried calling the owner back to arrange retrieval of the vehicle his phone was disconnected, Constable Ciaran Feenan told CBC News.

Police later discovered that the car was uninsured, so they towed it to an impound lot, Metro News Vancouver reported.

The Vancouver police are now handling the case.
