PICTON, Ont. - Cheese lovers will be able to sample more than 125 varieties made by artisans from across the country at a festival in Ontario's Prince Edward County.
The cheeses, from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island, will also be available for purchase at the third annual Great Canadian Cheese Festival June 1-2 at the Picton Fairgrounds.
One-third of the participating cheese producers will be from Quebec. Winners of the Canadian Cheese Grand Prix, sponsored by the Dairy Farmers of Canada, will be featured, including the grand champion ricotta.
Also ready to tempt visitors' palates will be three dozen artisanal food producers, more than 20 wineries, six craft breweries and one cidermaker.
