Rob Ford's statement Friday afternoon, in which he denied allegations that he smokes crack cocaine, was met with outrage on Twitter.

Some noted that the mayor seemed to deny that he currently smokes crack or is a crack addict, but not that he may have smoked crack at some earlier time.

Others speculated Ford's statement is proof that he has bought the now infamous video watched by Gawker and Toronto Star reporters.

Ford's decision to focus blame on the Toronto Star for covering the scandal also provoked considerable outrage online.
