FREDERICTON - The New Brunswick government says people living in flood-prone areas should keep an eye on water levels over the weekend.

River Watch says up to 120 millimetres of rain is expected for the Fundy region on Saturday, with central and southern parts of the province receiving between 50 to 75 millimetres.

They say that could lead to localized flooding.

Officials say residents should watch for elevated water levels along the St. John River.

They say people should ensure that rain gutters, culverts and ditches are free of debris and leaves.
