Poor ol' Father's Day isn't nearly as epic as the Hallmark event reserved for the mothers of the world, but Sunday, June 16, you can still show your dad you're paying attention to him too.

Father's Day is celebrated in many countries including Canada and the United States on the third Sunday of June. But it's also celebrated in other parts of the globe on different days.

The history of Father's Day dates back to the early 20th century in America. There are conflicting reports about exactly when and where it was first celebrated, but by most accounts it was certainly an afterthought to Mother's Day.

If you don't want your dear dad to feel like second fiddle, it's time to start planning right now. Do you think your dad is the coolest? You can do what the hipsters do for Father's Day, write him a poem or buy him something quirky yet thoughtful.

How do you plan to celebrate? Let us know in the comments below.
