A dense fog has shrouded some parts of Toronto and drivers are being warned to take extra precautions on the road.

Visibility “could be as low as 200 metres at times in the most dense patches,” Environment Canada said in a special statement. “Motorists are advised to exercise caution as sudden reductions to visibility are possible.”

At least one flight from Ottawa to the Toronto Island Airport was turned back.

The fog is expected to lift by Wednesday morning.
