Shortly after the Los Angeles Kings defeated the San Jose Sharks in Game 7 of the Western Conference semfinal Tuesday night, the NHL released the schedule for the third round of the playoffs, including two scenarios for the West.
The Boston Bruins will visit the high-flying Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday (CBC, CBCSports.ca, 8 p.m. ET). The clubs will play Game 2 next Monday, before the series shifts to Boston for Games 3 and 4 the following Wednesday, June 5 and Friday, June 7, respectively.
Start times for all games will be at 8 p.m. ET, preceded by Scotiabank Hockey Tonight with host Ron MacLean at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Penguins, who are coming off a five-game victory over the Ottawa Senators, boasts one of the best offences in the NHL.
The Bruins disposed the New York Rangers in similar fashion by using four strong lines, along with stellar goaltending from Tuukka Rask.
The Stanley Cup champion Kings will face the winner of Game 7’s matchup between the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks Wednesday (CBC, CBCSports.ca, 8 p.m. ET).
Once that series concludes, Hockey Night in Canada will televise Game 4 of the Western Conference final on Thursday, June 6, and the ensuing three games should they be necessary.
