Man fatally shot in east end

Toronto police have been called to the scene of a fatal shooting in the city's east end.

Police reports that Vaithalingam Surendra was shot in the backyard of his home at 17 Mantis Road, near Morningside Avenue and Finch Avenue East.

Police say the suspects shot the victim in the chest just before 3 p.m.

The 38-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they are looking for three suspects.

The first suspect is described as black, five-foot-four to five-foot-six with a dark complexion and a ponytail on the top of his head and who speaks with a heavy Jamaican accent.

The second is black, five-foot-four with a dark complexion.

The third is described as brown, with a light complexion and straight hair.

Police say surveillance camera footage from neighboring houses will be crucial in tracking them down.
