The Gardiner Expressway and the Don Valley Parkway will both be closed for part of the day on Sunday as 13,000 cyclists participate in the Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart.

Beginning at 2 a.m., the Gardiner will be closed from Carlaw Avenue to the Humber Bridge, and the DVP from Highway 401 all the way down to the Gardiner. Both major routes will be reopened at 2 p.m.

Organizers are advising motorists to use Lake Shore Boulevard as an alternate to the Gardiner.

Bayview Avenue, Leslie Street or Don Mills Road can also be used instead of the DVP.

The Toronto Transit Commission is also advising riders of diversions along the following routes from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday:

- 29D Dufferin (Exhibition Princes' Gates) will be turning back at Dufferin Gate

- 316 Ossington

- 329 Dufferin

The Ride for Heart begins at Exhibition Place, with start times for cyclists varying by route.
