Queen Elizabeth's Hat Has Something Blue At Coronation Anniversary (PHOTOS)

The Many Hats Of Queen Elizabeth II

It's hard to believe that Queen Elizabeth II has been the head of the British Monarchy for 65 years. (Doesn't Liz look fab?)

To mark the occasion, the Queen and her closest royal friends and family including the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William attended her coronation at Westminster Abbey on Tuesday.

While we loved Kate Middleton's peach ensemble (and of course her adorable royal baby bump), we think that the 87-year-old monarch took the cake (crown? throne?) for best outfit, mostly because of her incredible hat.

The white satin hat, which matched her darling coat, featured heavy embroidery and two blue roses. If we didn't know that Elizabeth was already married, we would swear she was about to walk down the aisle. (Does the crown count as something borrowed?)

Hats, of course, are practically mandatory at royal events and even celebrities were spotted jumping on the hat craze after Kate and William's royal wedding in 2011 filled London with fun fascinators.

But no one, not even Duchess Kate, can compete with the hats of Queen Elizabeth. So, in honour of the 65th anniversary of her coronation, we tip our hats off to the reigning queen and her years of making us happy with her headgear.
