Penguins confirm Tomas Vokoun will start Game 3

The Pittsburgh Penguins communicated through their Twitter feed that Tomas Vokoun will start in net for Game 3 against Boston on Wednesday.

Vokoun will get another chance for Pittsburgh, who look to put a dent in a 2-0 series deficit in the Eastern Conference final (CBC,, 8 p.m. ET).

He was pulled after allowing three goals on 12 shots in the first period against the Bruins on Monday. Marc-Andre Fleury allowed three more scores in the 6-1 drubbing.

Vokoun came off the bench for his first playoff appearance in six years on May 9, replacing an inconsistent Fleury against the New York Islanders.

The Czech netminder since then has amassed a 6-3 record, with one shutout, a .929 save percentage and 2.26 goals-against average.
