KAMLOOPS, B.C. - A violent dispute in an upstairs unit of a home in Kamloops, B.C., led to a gun being discharged into the floor, with the bullet hitting a woman in the basement suite.

RCMP say the 25-year-old woman was with her husband and five-year-old daughter when she was shot in the arm around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

She was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

A 34-year-old suspect who is believed to have been involved in the argument with another man was arrested Wednesday morning.

Staff Sgt. Grant Learned says the man has a history of violence, property crime and drug-related offences.

The other man and a 19-year-old woman were questioned and released before the suspect was apprehended.
